Sweet Potato Sheera Recipe

Sweet potato sheera is a tempting variation to the traditional Indian sweet dish called sheera. It is prepared with boiled sweet potatoes, ghee, sugar, cream and flavored with cardamom.

Method:

  1. Steam sweet potato for 15 minutes or until soft, remove from steamer and let it cool completely.
  2. Once they are completely cooled remove the skin and cut into small pieces and mash it.
  3. Heat a non stick pan on medium heat, add ghee.
  4. Add mashed sweet potatoes and stir for 2 minutes.
  5. Add cream and sugar mix well, stirring continuously.
  6. Cook for 5 to 6 minutes or until sheera leaves the sides of the pan.
  7. Tun off the heat and add cardamom powder.
  8. Garnish with sliced pistachio, Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 4 Medium Size Sweet Potatoes
  • 3 Tablespoon Ghee
  • 4 Tablespoon Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoon Cream
  • 2 Cardamom, powdered
  • To Garnish:
  • 1 Tablespoon Pistachio (Pista), sliced
