Green Beans Subzi Recipe

Green Beans Subzi Recipe
Serves 4 people

Green beans also known as French beans and Runner beans, they hold a high nutritional value and are available universally.

Method:

  1. Heat the oil in a medium non-stick pan.
  2. Add mustard and carom seeds, wait until they crackle.
  3. Add curry leaves, asafoetida and stir.
  4. Add the green beans, 1 cup of water and salt.
  5. Cover and cook the green beans on medium heat for 15-20 minutes stirring every few minutes to cook evenly and prevent burning.
  6. Add red chili powder, coriander-cumin powder, sugar when the green beans are tender and mix well.
  7. Cook uncovered for 2-3 minutes.
  8. Garnish with chopped cilantro and grated coconut. Serve hot with chapati or roti or paratha.

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups Green Beans, chopped
  • 2 Tablespoon Oil
  • 1 Teaspoon Carom Seeds (Ajwain)
  • 1 Teaspoon Mustard Seeds (Rai)
  • 2-3 Curry Leaves
  • A pinch Asafoetida
  • 2 Teaspoons Red Chili Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Coriander-Cumin Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Sugar
  • Salt to Taste
  • To Garnish:
  • 1 Tablespoon Cilantro (Coriander Leaves), chopped
  • 1 Tablespoon Coconut, grated
