Aloo Mutter Recipe
Serves 4 people

Aloo Mutter is a traditional Punjabi dish. Potato and peas are cooked together in tangy tomato gravy with a few spices. It can be served as brunch, lunch or dinner and is perfect with any Indian bread.

Method:

  1. Grind tomatoes, cashew and ginger into smooth paste.
  2. Heat oil in pan, add cumin seeds wait until seeds crack.
  3. Add curry leaves and tomato, cashew and ginger paste and cook until oil starts separating.
  4. Add salt, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala and mix well.
  5. Add the boiled potatoes, peas and one cup of water.
  6. Cover and cook on slow flame until a thick gravy is formed.
  7. Garnish with cilantro and serve hot with poori, parathas, roti.

Ingredients

  • 3 Potatoes, boiled, peeled and diced
  • 1/2 Cup Frozen Peas
  • 2 Tomatoes
  • 1 Inch Ginger
  • 4 to 5 Cashew Nuts
  • 3 to 4 Curry Leaves
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
  • 1 Teaspoon Coriander Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Garam Masala Powder
  • Salt To Taste
  • 2 Tablespoon Oil
  • To Garnish
  • 1 Tablespoon Cilantro (Coriander Leaves), finely chopped
