Fada Lapsi Recipe

Fada Lapsi is a delicious dessert of cracked wheat. It is also known as Lapsi or Dalia. Craked wheat is cooked with milk and sugar lightly flavored with saffron and cardamom.

Method:

  1. Heat pressure cooker on medium heat, add ghee.
  2. Add cracked wheat in ghee and stir fry for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add water and milk slowly to cracked wheat and stir.
  4. Add sugar, cardamom powder, saffron, chopped pistachio and charoli, mix well.
  5. Pressure cook for 3 to 4 whistles.
  6. Allow the pressure cooker to cool for 15 minutes.
  7. Garnish with sliced almonds and pistachios.
  8. Enjoy lapsi with meal or alone.

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Cracked Wheat (Fada/Dalia)
  • 3/4 Cup Sugar
  • 4 Tablespoons Ghee
  • 1 Cup Milk
  • 2 Cups Water
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Cardamom Powder
  • 10-12 Strand of Saffron
  • 2 Tablespoon Pistachio, chopped
  • 2 Tablespoon Charoli
  • To Garnish:
  • 1 Tablespoon Almonds, sliced
  • 1 Tablespoon Pistachios, sliced
