Khichu Recipe

Khichu is a easy and simple Gujarati dish made of rice flour and flavored with cumin and carom seeds. Served with Oil. Also known as papdi no lot.

Method:

  1. Boil water in a pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds, carom seeds, and salt, boil until water is light yellow in color.
  2. Add green chilies and oil, boil for one more minute add soda bicarbonate.
  3. Add rice flour and stir vigorously with a wooden spoon to avoid lumps.
  4. Cover and turn heat to low, cook for 6-7 minutes.
  5. Serve hot with oil.

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Rice Flour
  • 3 Cups Water
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
  • 1 Teaspoon Carom Seeds (Ajwain)
  • 2 Green Chilies, finely chopped
  • Salt to Taste
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Soda Bicarbonate
  • 1 Tablespoon Oil
