Sabudana Khichadi Recipe

Sabudana Khichadi Recipe

Sabudana khichadi is enjoyed during fast. This sweet and spicy khichadi is made with sabudana mixed with roasted peanuts and potatoes. Can be served with yogurt.

Method:

  1. Wash and soak sabudana in 2½ cups of water for 7 to 8 hours.
  2. Drain water and spread sabudana on a paper napkin or cloth.
  3. Meanwhile, heat a non stick pan over medium heat add oil or ghee.
  4. Add cumin seeds, wait until seeds crackle.
  5. Add green chilies and cubed potatoes mix well and stir fry for a minute.
  6. Next add roasted peanut, sugar, lime juice and salt mix well.
  7. Add sabudana and chopped cilantro mix and stir fry for 2 – 3 minutes.
  8. Serve hot with yogurt.

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups Sabudana (Sago)
  • 1 Medium Size Potato, boiled, peeled, cubed
  • 1/2 Cup Roasted Peanuts, coarsely crushed
  • 2 Green Chilies, finely chopped
  • 2 Tablespoon Cilantro (Coriander Leaves), chopped
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
  • 1 Tablespoon Oil or Ghee
  • 1 Tablespoon Lime Juice
  • 1 Teaspoon Sugar
  • Salt to Taste
