Bhel Puri Recipe

Bhel-Puri is the most commonly sold chaat in the streets of Mumbai. The proportions of the various chutneys in Bhel can be adjusted to your personal preferences.

Method:

  1. Combine all the dry ingredients: mamra, puri, sev, onions, potatoes, tomatoes in a large bowl
  2. Add the garlic, khajur-imli, and green chili chutneys and lemon juice and toss gently till all the ingredients are mixed well.
  3. Divide into 4 equal portions and garnish each portion with the puri, sev, cliantro and raw mango(optional).
  4. Serve immediately.

Tips:

  • Toast the puffed rice to make crispy bhel.
  • Ingredients

    • 4 Cups Puffed Rice (Mamra)
    • 1/2 Cup Sev
    • 10 Puri, broken in pieces
    • 1/2 Cup Onions, finely chopped
    • 1/2 Cup boiled Potatoes, chopped
    • 1/2 Cup Tomato, chopped (optional)
    • 2 Teaspoons Garlic Chutney
    • 8 Tablespoons Khajur Imli Chutney
    • 4 Tablespoons Green Chili Chutney
    • 1 Teaspoon Fresh Lemon Juice
    • To Garnish:
    • 4 Puri
    • 4 Tablespoon Sev
    • 2 Teaspoons Cilantro (Coriander Leaves), chopped
    • 1 Tablespoon Raw Mango, finely chopped (optional)
