Dry Fruit Shrikhand Recipe

Dry Fruit Shrikhand is flavored with mixed nuts and dried fruits. It is popular Indian dessert. Traditionally, shrikhand is served with puri in Gujarati food.

Method:

  1. Tie yogurt in a clean cheese cloth or muslin cloth, hang it in cool place for 5 to 6 hours.
  2. Untie the cloth, yogurt will become thick in consistency.
  3. Rub saffron into 1 tablespoon milk till well broken and dissolved. Keep aside.
  4. Transfer yogurt in a bowl, add sugar, condense milk and dissolved kesar.
  5. Beat well till sugar has fully dissolved into yogurt. Add figs, raisins, cashews, almonds and pista, mix well.
  6. Garnish with chopped pista and strands saffron.
  7. Chill for 1-2 hours before serving.
  8. Enjoy Dry Fruit Shrikhand with puri or as dessert.

Ingredients

  • 4 Cups Yogurt
  • 6 Tablespoon Sugar
  • 2 Dried Figs, diced
  • 1 Tablespoon Indian Raisins or Golden Raisins
  • 1 Tablespoon Pistachio (Pista)
  • 1 Tablespoon Almonds, coarsely chopped
  • 1 Tablespoon Cashews, coarsely chopped
  • 10 to 12 Strands Saffron (Kesar)
  • 1/2 Cup Condense Milk (not Evaporated Milk)
  • To Garnish
  • 1/2 Tablespoon mixed nuts, coarsely chopped
