Shrikhand is very popular sweet made of yogurt and sugar. It is popular sweet dish of India, can be made in different flavors. Here is a recipe for Elaichi Shrikhand, flavored with cardamom. Traditionally, shrikhand is served with poori in Gujarati food.

Method:

  1. Tie yogurt in a clean cheese cloth or muslin cloth, hang it in cool place for 5 to 6 hours.
  2. Untie cloth, yogurt will become thick in consistency.
  3. Transfer yogurt in a bowl, add sugar, condense milk and cardamom powder.
  4. Beat well till sugar has fully dissolved into yogurt.
  5. Garnish with chopped pista and cardamom powder.
  6. Chill for 1-2 hours before serving.
  7. Enjoy shrikhand with poori or as dessert.

Ingredients

  • 4 Cups Yogurt
  • 7 Teaspoon Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Condense Milk (not Evaporated Milk)
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Cardamom Powder
  • To Garnish
  • 1/2 Tablespoon Pista, coarsely chopped
  • A Pinch of Cardamom Powder
