Refried Beans Recipe

Refried Beans Recipe
Serves 2 people

Refried beans are easy and delicious. Canned kidney beans, mashed and mixed with green bell pepper mildly flavored. Great in burritos, as a dip or serve with Enchiladas.


  1. Drain the beans, mash them and keep aside.
  2. Heat a pan on a medium heat, add oil.
  3. Add chopped bell pepper, and saute for few minutes or until soft.
  4. Add mashed beans, coriander-cumin powder, red chili powder and salt, mix well.
  5. Add additional water as needed to achieve desired consistency.
  6. Place over low heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve.


  • 1 Can Red Kidney Beans (Rajma)
  • 2 Tablespoons Green Bell Pepper (Capsicum), chopped
  • 1 Teapoons Coriander-Cumin Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Oil
  • Salt to Taste

  1. I had a friend tell me about a salsa that she made and she told me the ingredients but i can’t get it right. The recipe had mexican squash(calabeza squash), lime, onion, garlic, and jalapeño. I keep trying it but i don’t get it right. And she no longer has a phone because she moved out of state. It was a really healthy recipes and she served it on refried beans. If anyone knows this recipe please inform me how much of everything to use. I have searched and searched on the internet and i can’t find anything like it

  2. I know that refried beans are made of pinto beans. I need refried beans for a recipe. Can anyone give me steps to make refried beans from canned pinto beans.

  3. Is there a special trick to refried beans? I have followed several recipes but always end up with a soupy mess that just takes like watery beans. I am not that bad of a cook but this is just one area I can’t get right. Any sugestions to add flavor would be appreciated.
