Seviyan Recipe

Seviyan is prepared using vermicelli, milk and nuts and also known as seviyan kheer. It is very easy to prepare and tastes delicious.

Method:

  1. Rub saffron into 1 tablespoon milk till well broken and dissolved. Keep aside.
  2. Heat ghee or unsalted butter in heavy bottom pan, fry vermicelli until light brown.
  3. Add milk to fried vermicelli, bring it to boil.
  4. Add sugar, dissolve kesar, almonds and pistachios to it and mix well.
  5. Simmer for 5 minutes stirring occasionally.
  6. Add cardamom powder and turn off the heat.
  7. Enjoy seviyan hot or cold.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup Vermicelli Noodles (Seviyan)
  • 2 Cups Milk
  • 1 Tablespoon Almonds, coarsely chopped
  • 1 Tablespoon Pistachios, coarsely chopped
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Cardamom Powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Ghee or Unsalted Butter
  • 6 Tablespoon Sugar
  • 10-12 Strands of Kesar (saffron)
